I yawned, stretching my arms far above my head. Today was Saturday, and my first day as a Hogwarts’ student.
“Good morning!” I said to the still sleeping Astoria. She didn’t move.
My stomach snarled, and I found myself starving. I desperately wanted food, but I had no idea where the dinning hall here was. Astoria would know, and she would be up soon, right? She had to be, or else we’d be late for morning classes.
Speaking of classes, I decided to check my schedule. That would buy Astoria a few more minutes before I woke her up. I traced my finger from where it was labled SATURDAY to where my classes should be. But Saturday was blank. Odd. Well, I thought to myself, perhaps you can choose your own schedule on Saturdays. In that case, I decided to choose my first class as Charms. They were so unique, and I loved learning them.
Five more minutes passes, and Astoria was still snoring. I’ll just have to change that, I thought smugly to myself. I walked over to Astoria, and prodded her sharply in the ribs.
Her snoring faltered, and her eyes flew open. “Oi! Bailey, wassa’matter?”
“Get up lazy bones! We’re going to be late to morning classes! Do you want that to happen?”
She gave a sleepy half-hearted chuckle. “We don’t have any classes on Saturday, silly,” she yawned loudly. “Go back to bed. But if you must stay up, Sapphire is an early-bird. She’ll be in the common room, if you want to go stay with her. But I must go back to sleep.”
I was wide-awake. There was no way I could go back to bed now. That was one problem I had with myself; once I was up, I was up-- there was no way I could go back to sleep now.
I decided to go to the common room to meet Sapphire, but I was suddenly nervous. I’d never met her before- what would she be like? Bailey! Get A hold of yourself! Get dresses, and get your butt down to the common room and meet Sapphire!
As usual, my mind won. With a mighty sigh, I stumbled over to my empty bags on the floor- Wait. Empty bags?! Where was all my stuff?!
I ran to Astoria and shook her until her eyes went from sleepy to angry. “Bailey, stop,” she said grumpily. “What’s your problem?”
“My stuff! Oh, Astoria, it’s all gone!” I wailed.
“Oh, please,” her voice was little more than a growl. “Ever heard of a dresser?”
“But…. I don’t understand. I never unpacked..”
“Honestly, are you even a witch? Ever heard of House Elves? They came in here in the middle of the night, and unpacked your stuff for you.”
We’d had house elves back in France; I don’t know why I’d never thought of it. Nerves, probably.
I turned around. Four massive dressers were lined up neatly against the green and silver striped walls. They had a color pattern- green, silver, green, silver.
On the first dresser, a green one, the letters AG were drawn on in silver curly letters. The second one, a silver had the same letter style, only in green. It read SJ. The third, was the same deal. It was green, with silver lettering, and read AP. The last was silver with green lettering, with the letters BN written on it. BN. Bailey Nichols.
I opened up the first drawer. There was all my underwear. That would be useful later.
The second drawer held all my shirts. The third one, my pants.
There were only two more drawers left. One held my towels, and toiletries, and the last was empty. I had nothing to put in it.
My hair things had all been neatly arranged on the top of the dresser- right next to a full sized mirror. Well, at least I could see what I looked like… all over.
As I was about to walk out the door, I realized that I was still in my P.J.’s. I’d never changed. Ha ha, whoops.
I walked back over to the dresser, and pulled a lilac colored t-shirt out of the second drawer. I tugged the tank top off over my head, and quickly pulled on the shirt.
I kicked off my shorts, and, quick as lightning, pulled on the jeans.
I walked over to the huge mirror, and took a look at myself. My wavy auburn hair shone in the sunlight. My bright green eyes shone with excitement, and adventure.
Here, I could wear whatever I wanted- under my robes, and within reason, of course. Back at France, we had to wear a hideous blue dress, with a silly little hat. I mean c’mon seriously?! A hat? Ugh, they were so prim and proper- almost the exact opposite as me. Maybe that was why I hated it so much…
Don’t let my petite figure fool you; I’m rough and tough, and my bruises and scars will tell you that. I’m not as fragile as I look.
Anyways, this was my favorite outfit. Maybe because it was the outfit Jacob had asked me to be his girlfriend in. Maybe it was because everyone said I looked “smoking hot” in it. I just loved it. The fitting purple shirt emphasizes my petite frame. The jeans looked nice. I think they really put the outfit together.
After I was done admiring my outfit, I pulled on black high-tops, and, for the first time noticed the soft carpet. It was green, with silver flecks. Shocker.
I back-tracked from last night, take a left, keep walking, turn right, go down the staircase, and you were in the common room. Two people were in it. One of them was Draco. The other was an average-heighted thin girl. Her face was absolutely beautiful. Her sparkling blue eyes were just like Astoria’s. Her long jet-black hair was silky, and had Sapphire colored high-lights. She reminded me a lot of Astoria. Wait! Sapphire….. Aha! That’s who this girl must be.
Anyways, her and Draco appeared to be arguing.
“If you break her heart,” Sapphire was snarling viciously. I was surprised she wasn’t foaming from the mouth. Yet. “I’ll break your arrogant little face!”
“Why do you even care? The last time I checked, you were not involved in this relationship!”
“She’s my best friend! Her business is practically mine!”
“Oh, well that’s just-”
“You know what I mean!” she snapped.
“How did you even find out I was planning to break up with her? You were ease dropping, weren’t you?” he accused.
“Um, well, maybe I wouldn’t know if you didn’t talk to yourself like a crazy person!” She said crazy like ca-razy.
“I think better when- And you‘re one to call me cra-” he broke of when he saw me. “Bailey,” he said. “This is Sapphire, one of your room mates- the crazy one- the others are Autumn and Astoria-”
“His soon-to-be ex-girlfriend,” Sapphire added sourly.
“Sapphire, lay off it. It’s my business if I break up with her. Not yours. Get that through your thick. Head!”
Sapphire sniffed. “Have you met Astoria or Autumn?”
“Actually yes. Well, just Astoria. She was awake when I got here last night,”
“Okay, good! You’ll like Autumn- she’s amazing. So sweet, and nice.” she paused, and raised her eyebrows, eyeing Draco. “And this here is just the opposite. This is Draco. Also Astoria’s boyfriend,”
“We actually already met when she came here last night, thank you very much,” Draco muttered.
“Wait a sec,” Sapphire said, her eyes going blank. “Bailey, what time did you get here last night?”
“Uh, I dunno. It was late. Er, or early depending on how you want to put it. My best guess would be 1:30,”
“And where did you meet Draco? Here in the Slytherin common room?” she pressed.
“No, he was walking behind me while I was still in the castle corridors.”
Something snapped inside Sapphire then. It was really strange. I didn’t really see what happened, but, from the looks of it, Draco tried to make an escape, but Sapphire sprinted after him, grabbed his arms, and began to shake him violently.
Draco grabbed her, and stopped her from giving him a concussion. “What were you doing?!” she shrieked. “All students are supposed to be in their dorms by nine! Tell me what you were doing now!”
Whoa. And her major malfunction was….? Then it hit me. There was something big, something HUGE that I didn’t know. Obviously, I wouldn’t know it, I just got here yesterday. But it had to do with Draco, and maybe Astoria or Sapphire. All I did know was that I desperately wanted to know what was going on.

Oooh!! I like this already! Yes, it's going to be very different.

OMG, this is sooo going to be awesome! I can't wait! Very different, and definitely interesting. (OMG, I got out of habit. That took me three tries...)

Hahha yeah, like every time you wrote Slytherin except for twice, you typed it as "Slytherine." Just making sure.
