Hurt You

This is basically what's going on with me and Alex...

One minute I love you,
The next I don’t,
This is going to be amazing,
But it really won’t.

Figure out these thoughts
Circling my brain,
Find the best route
To escape the pain.

One minute it’s clear,
The next it’s not,
Love’s more confusing
Than I originally thought.

So what do I do?
Just sit down and wait?
And let these emotions
Turn into hate?

Hate for this feeling
I’ve never had before,
That leaves me broken,
Yet wanting more.

Holding your hand,
All through the night,
I start to believe
Everything is all right.

Then morning comes,
And I think of what was,
And I break your heart,
And just tell you because.

So my head is spinning,
On the verge of tears,
What’s going to happen
In later years?

Stay friends ‘til forever,
‘Til death do we part,
Or will you leave me
With half of a heart.

Maybe we’re full circle,
Where I blindly hurt you,
Never think far ahead
Of what my words will do.

So I beg your forgiveness
For the things that I’ve done,
And ask that you stick around,
All in good fun.

‘Cause I can’t decide
What I must do,
I’ll stick with the words
I love you.
