x.lupus; the disease.
[Sooooooo. I wrote this as a contest entry on WI, and thought it would finally make an excuse to come back to poetry. Enjoyyy.

Had her eyes scanned across the clearing,
to the sight of a fluttering, purple butterfly.
Had her lack of hair not been appealing,
to the ever-growing disease she could not deny.
No cure, had the doctors once stated,
though support had been the missing key.
A life to which she assumed she was fated,
thought this was who she was meant to be.
She would fight the pain in every joint,
she would watch the rashes slowly grow.
Believe she'd been down to her breaking point,
hoped there was a cure, someone would know.
The fatigue had come to be another piece,
in the ever-growing list she had come to see.
A list of which would never decrease,
almost thought of a life she wouldn't want to flee.
Disease of whom's name had been lupus,
where support was all she would ever need.
Maybe she wouldn't feel just so useless,
as there's an end to this disease, you see.

Aw... That's very touching (given the point for which it was written), and really sad... I like it a lot.

Yeah, that's really good. And sad, too,
