Re: July Writing Contest
xD I expect mine to be a little creepy. I've written just about 450 words or so.
Re: July Writing Contest
Wooo! It doesn't have to be 1000 words, just so you guys know. It just has to be complete and 1000 words or under.
Re: July Writing Contest
Don't worry. You haven't seen a full amount of creepiness just yet.

Re: July Writing Contest
Ta da! I thought it seemed complete, since the ending . . must not spoil!
- Spoiler:
You wake up shackled to a chair and can't remember how you got there. Two voices are talking. You recognize one of them.
“What are you doing? What the fu-ARRGHHHHHHHHH!” The more familiar voice breaks off into a wail of sheer pain and alarm, accompanied by a bizarre series of indistinguishable clicking noises and – barking?
“Let me out of here!” Your conscience is still asleep, despite you being awake. The urgency of the situation in your phased state is neither processed nor understood with clarity; however you are capable of finding nothing appreciative in the shackles.
“Cackleeydoochipchipvardoompluckconmanclicker,” a misshapen globule of fuzzy grey invades your vision. Two gargantuan, onyxian orbs stare. At the shock of witnessing the impossible, your conscience awakens at last!
“Holy SHIT!” The horrible creature coming into focus is unfeasible, surreal and disturbed! Never would you, the materialist, have dared dream upon yourself such a horror. A Grey alien! In Texas!
Edmund! Your son is unprotected! Turning your head to look away from the bestial menace before you, your eyes snap to a sickening sight! Edmund, surrounded by a pod of curious aliens, grasps feebly at the air as if trying to ascend an invisible ladder, and silently you hear him utter oaths of fear.
“Make it stop, make it stop,” his weeping is terrifying, and the cold indifference of the aliens is maddening. “I cannot see.” Edmund’s final words seal the fate of this newfound humanoid race.
“You’re not taking anything from me! You can’t have him!” The wrath of losing a son and the grief of a child sheared from life are the ingredients in the formula of hate, and tearing from the shackles rabid hysteria consume you in the lust for brutal justice!
The Greys turn slowly and merely stare. One experimental child, one mistake, one slip of the scalpel was a meagre err to them. A full grown male, however, could not be wasted! With wild gesticulations, the Grey behind you motions to his fellows a swift plan in recovering their deranged prisoner.
“Kindlekekekekcrickenaneckkekekek!” Some malformed creature pummels the back of your head, stunning you. On queue, a second Grey’s slimy fingers force something tasting of bitter soap into your mouth; gagging out promises of a violent death, you diffuse the soap across the floor, and sever the offending alien’s wet fingers from their host!
Instantaneously, a buzzing emanates from the fingers. And they twitch. Something else is possible to separate from the hum. Tiny, weak voices of lost souls!
“Who else have you slain, demons!? Where did you put my son?! IN YOUR FINGERS!?”
“Not yet!”
“HUH?!” With a sudden jolt of relief, you open your eyes into the real world!
After all, you can dream.

Re: July Writing Contest
I won't read it yet, because I might get ideas from it, and I don't want to be naughty naughty. I guess I really do need to start mine. xD I'll write tomorrow. (Wow, I sound like such a procrastinator right now. )

Re: July Writing Contest
Ah, I've been a huge procrastinator all week on my novel, but yesterday I wrote 3.5k words, bringing me to nearly12k. I figured out that if I write 2k every day, I'll finish it by the end of the summer, which is the goal. 200 pages is about 100k words so.. I've got a ways to go. Although it might be less than 200 pages, I don't know. It depends on how many brain waves and new plot ideas I get.
Re: July Writing Contest
Oh, how I hate typing long things. xD It was very creepy typing this at night, and hearing yelling and whatnot from outside doesn't help. Well, neither does creepy Japanese music xD Anyways, I've learned that I can't write good creepy stories. Plus it's very short. Gah.
- Spoiler:
- I opened my eyes slowly. My whole body ached. Any slight movement caused me immense pain. I couldn't remember anything at all. I must've been out cold for days. I faintly took in where I was. I was in a small, dark room, and chained to a cold metal chair. The chains dug into myskin. The metal cold against my skin. I couldn't move- I could barely breathe. Then, I heard voices. Two, in fact, and I recognized one of them. I couldn't recall exactly where I had heard the voice before. Nor could I hear what exactly they were saying. The voice I recognize sounded as if she was reasoning with the other, almost scared. The second, man's voice sounded cold, harsh, and angry. The the voices grew louder, clearer.
"No, please don't! Please! No!" The womans voice said.
"I have no choice." said the man's. "Now get out of my way."
I heard footsteps as the owners of the voices came into the room. The man stepped back into the shadows. Suddenly, my heart started beating loud, and very fast. My breath came out in short gasps of pain. The girl looked scared, and I opened my mouth to comfort her, but I couldn't form words. I struggled against the chains, but they were strong and I soon grew weak. The man stepped from the shadows, weilding a blade. The girl screamed, nd all I could do was stare at the blade. Covered in dried blood, sharp, small, but deadly all the same. It was almost hard to believe something so simple could take a life in an instant- and tonight it will take mine. This was it. I was going to die. I wouldn't know the reason, I'd just pass on. I wasn't afraid- I welcomed death. The girl ran towards the man, screaming,
"Kill me instead! If anything, kill me first!"
The man laughed, turned to face her, and thrust the blade through her stomach. The girl stared at the blade, and then fell to the floor. With her eyes still wide, but unseeing. The man reached down and pulled the blade from her limp body, and laughed as he watched the blood glisten in the faint light. I then realized who the girl was. I had a dream about her. She kept warning me that 'my time was up' and I was going to die. She was, of course, I realized now. The man raised the blade. Suddenly, the room went dark. I couldn't hear anything- there was nothing to hear. I just waited. The murderer could've still killed me too. Then, the room was filled with blindingly bright light. Someone screamed. I looked, and saw that the girls body had disappeared. The man raised his blade for the third time that night. Right before he was about to plunge the blade into my heart, someone screamed again. The man spun around and I saw the ghost of the girl, standing behind him. She looked the same, exept very pale, and covered in her own blood. She stared at the man, and pulled a blade from her pocket. The man yelled and tried to run, but the ghost stabbed the blade into his back. He stopped, and fell to the floor, dead. The ghost pulled the blade from his back, and came towards me. She whisphered, "See you in hell." Then plunged the blade into my heart.
Re: July Writing Contest
YAY, I wrote this in about 20 minutes, so if it's a piece of crap, I'm sorry! xD
But YAY! Now I get to read your guys'! And 11:30 at night probably isn't the best time, but, oh well! xD
EDIT: Wow, guys, we're all very morbid, here. xD
- Spoiler:
- You wake up shackled to a chair and can't remember how you got there. Two voices are talking. You recognize one of them. It’s the unusually deep voice of your best friend.
Hold on, what is he doing here? Where are you? Questions rage about in your head like a forest fire, spreading, proliferating, devouring everything in it’s path: trees, shrubs even people. All other thoughts are consumed.
It’s then that you realize that although you are awake, you haven’t opened your eyes yet. You open up, and blink a few times, waiting for those awkward lights to get out of your way. The room you’re in is dark, and the floor beneath your feet feels like stone. There are no windows.
Suddenly, there’s a light in front of you. Two figures are outlined. One seems to be your best friend in the world, Tyler. The other is a large figure. He looks to be nearly 6’ 5”, and very muscular. You know you don’t want to get caught on the wrong side of this guy.
“Tyler!” you shout, squirming around in the straight-backed chair as the chains holding you there chafe your forearms, “Please! Help me!”
Mr. Man walks up and pulls out a large syringe filled with a suspicious green liquid, and sticks it into the large vein in the side of your neck, and pushes his finger. You feel the liquid entering into the vain. The feel of it makes you want to throw up. Then comes the pain.
You scream, and the pain spreads like water when it’s dumped on your head. Agony. Washing down your neck, through your chest, sending a chill across your heart, and into the very tips of your fingers and toes. It feels like every piece of you is burning to ash.
“TYLER!” you’re screaming your heart out now, “SAVE ME! PLEASE...” and out of nowhere come the tears. You sob as you thrash about, trying to escape the chair.
Darkness is sneaking into the corners of your vision. You pray for unconsciousness once more. This has to end, this has to end! You shout inside your head.
“Wait,” Tyler says calmly, “We need her awake.”
Mr. Man walks up with another needle, this time filled with a peach colored liquid, and sticks it into the same vein. Your neck is starting to throb, and no doubt it’s bleeding as the needles shove into it. The pain ebbs away, but you can feel yourself aching all over where you hit yourself against the wooden chair. There are splinters in your legs, arms, everything.
“Elizabeth, do you know where we are?”
“Tyler, how on Earth am I supposed to know where we are?”
“Elizabeth, think.” Tyler says, he’s starting to look a little desperate. A weird, almost fearful look has entered his eyes.
You shake your head.
“Please,” he begs, and you can see his eyes growing livid. Mr. Man seems restless, “Please, say you know what I’m talking about!”
You shake your head again, still bewildered.
Tyler’s breathing has gotten quicker, and Mr. Man is rocking back and forth on the balls of his feet. It’s really unnerving you. There’s something wrong. Tyler’s never like this.
“Tell him! Please, Liz, tell him!” his voice is quivering, “Don’t let him!” he shakes his head wildly back and forth, “Tell him where it is!”
“Where what is?” you can’t stand all this uncertainty. What’s wrong with this place? What is with Mr. Man.
“She’s not the one,” says the gruff voice of Mr. Man from behind your back. Tyler’s face goes suddenly pale.
How did he get back there? you wonder about Mr. Man.
“No! No! She is! She is! Please no!” Tyler’s screaming, tears have streaked down his pale face.
“We have to dispose of her.”
You scream, Tyler screams, and you feel yet another needle in your neck. Then, everything hurts, and half a moment later, everything goes black.
* * *
I sat by the corpse of my best friend in the world. Garrett had left. Leaving me to deal with the murder of Liz.
“Elizabeth,” I cried, my tears dripping onto her blue t-shirt, “I loved you more than anything. Why did it have to be this way? Why you? Why not any other teenage girl? Why you...? This is all my fault. I’m so so sorry...” Despite my pain, I rose up, and started to walk away, "But I have to be a man. I'm one of them, now."
But YAY! Now I get to read your guys'! And 11:30 at night probably isn't the best time, but, oh well! xD
EDIT: Wow, guys, we're all very morbid, here. xD

Ah, we all are very morbid. xD Lauren, yours made me clutch my neck, because whenever someone has an injury I hold that part of my body protectively, too. xD Katie, yours was really interesting! Riveting. Anyway, great job both of you!

Lol, I guess that means I did... well? xD

Lol, I was joking. It probably fails. It took me all of half an hour. ROFL, I'm glad I could make you... clutch your neck.
