"God, where could he have gone this time?" James held up his hands, "He was right in front of us, and then, BAM, he's gone!"

[Dreamer]

"Ugh," Nadine groaned. She headed down the hill to search for him.

[Tolly12bells]

James weighed his options a couple times, and decided to stay with the other kids. That way Nadine could yell at Harry all she wanted, and he wouldn't awkwardly interrupt it.
"So, how are you guys doing?" James looked around at all the other campers as Nadine set off down the hill.

[Dreamer]

A mumbled response of good's and fine's greeted him as Nadine trooped down the hill, fuming.

[Tolly12bells]

The murmuring faded into a slight awkward silence. Emilie gazed off into the distance, seeming lost for words. Ray rocked back and forth on his feet. Nobody seemed to feel much like talking.

[Dreamer]

Nadine came back a minute later, gripping Harry firmly by the upper arm and looking infuriated.

[Tolly12bells]

"Oh god, Harry, why can't you just stay with the rest of us?" James voice shook with frustration.

[Dreamer]

"I got lost," he said blankly.
"You had to walk in a straight line towards an obscenely loud drum, Harry," Sam said, doing a *facepalm*.

[Tolly12bells]

Harry just stared at him, keeping that emotionless look on his face.
"Harry, do we have to watch you every second?" James closed his eyes, trying to keep calm.

[Dreamer]

((xD I couldn't think of another way to phrase it at the time.))

Harry shook his head, but Nadine nodded, pursing her lips.

((LOL, alrighty then. ))

James couldn't help but let out a quick snicker as the thought I'm getting mixed signals, formed in his head.

Harry rolled his eyes, looking bored with the whole ordeal, but nodded.

"So... moving on," Sam sighed. "Everyone sit down."

James plopped onto the ground, and sat criss-cross applesauce, feeling like a kindergartner about to learn what 2+2 is.

EDIT: Oh, nevermind. I read the thread up until that point. I think she's going to be back at her place, but like eternally grounded so she has to sneak out. ))

Nadine stared out her window into the blackness of night, missing James. Camp was over, summer was halfway gone, and she was trapped in this house with its painful memories and the woman she had come to loathe so much. It had been weeks since she had heard from anyone or felt the sunshine on her skin. Her computer and phone were taken away, there was a new code on the landline that her mother wouldn't tell her, and she wasn't allowed out of the house after her little runaway escapade. She ached for the sound of James' voice, and it killed her knowing that he was so close and yet out of reach.
