After what seemed like years, they reached a white van. The man opened up the door, and threw her into it, while he got in the drivers' seat.

Mark grabbed onto the back of the van as it took off.

Lilly silently weeped, while banging on the side of the van. "Let me go! L-l-let m-me go...."

Mark grinned at how ninja this was as the van sped off and still he clung to it.

After what seemmed like hours, the van skidded to stop. When the man opened up the door again, Lilly let out a roar, and popped him in the mouth.

Mark stayed pressed to the back of the van, waiting, watching.

While her kidnapper cursed, and stumbled backwords, she threw herself out of the van, and started racing towards the back of it, until she discovered Mark..

Mark grabbed Lilly and hugged her for a split second, and then grabbed her hand and pulled her along, dashing off. Soon enough, though, the kidnapper caught up to them and grabbed them both easily with his meaty hands. He threw them both in the back of the trunk and locked the doors. The car stayed stationary; they could hear the man walking around outside of it.

"What's going to happen?" she whispered nervously. "I'm so scared!" she burried her face into Mark's shoulder.

"It'll be okay," Mark whispered in her ear, holding her tightly and stroking her hair, though he wasn't so sure himself.

Lilly quietly sobbed. "How will we get out of this? If we d-do, I s-swear I'll n-never l-l-leave the h-house a-ag-again!"

"Then I'll stay there with you. Lilly, it's going to be okay, we'll get through this... I promise." He gently kissed her, wishing it wasn't just empty words.

Lilly looked up at him "Y-you r-really th-think so?"

"Of course," he murmured, holding her close to him and stroking her hair comfortingly.

Lilly stopped crying some, and heard the man talking roughly into his cell phone, though she could not make out what was being said.

Mark pressed his ear to the metal of the van, trying to hear the conversation. Only once he strained could he hear the worlds, still a little hazy. "...guy, we can do away with, but the girl is all mine."
Mark's eyes widened, and pulled away from the wall. "Can't hear him clearly," he lied to Lilly, figuring out what to do.

"I guess that's too bad," she said wiping her eyes.

"Yeah... er, we need a plan... stay away from him at all costs if you can help it, obviously, don't ever go along with what he says. We should scream for help once he opens the car doors and also just hurt him in every way possible."

"Okay. My teeth are pretty sharp, see?" she bared her teeth, showing off their needle like points.

Mark nodded. "Good."

"Do you know any self-defense?"

"Yeah, do you?"
The man banged on the van. "No talking in there! I can hear you scheming!"

She dropped her voice to a whisper. "Kind of. Why's he taking so long out there?"

"I think he's talking on the phone..."
"I've got gags! Stop talking or they'll be on your mouths!"
Mark looked at Lilly in the silent darkness. What if their defense wasn't enough? What if he didn't make it? If he was about to die, he wanted their last moments to be blissful, not like this... he held her tighter. "Just in case," he whispered, and gently kissed her.

Lilly gratefully kissed him back, though his words worried her. He was concerned about this; was what he was saying about escaping really true? Or was he just comforting her?
