Three Poems
Well, the site was sort of dead for a while, so I refrained from posting, but as it seems that now, somebody other than Eileen might log on from time to time... xD Two sad, one happy.
Mirror
Whose face is reflected,
There in the mirror?
The one gazing back at me?
This is a feeling ever so queer
For that’s not who I see.
Who’s the one staring,
There in the mirror?
There with the tear-filled eyes?
This looking glass must be unclear
Because I seem to be flying so high
Who’s the one sighing,
There in the mirror?
With her shoulders slowly falling?
This portal view has brought us so near
I think I can hear her calling
Now she’s hurting,
There in the mirror.
Heart scarred time and again
Her agony, it fills me with fear
For I know that she longs for the end
And now comes the bleeding,
There in the mirror.
As a blade finds a place to call home
I feel the echoes of mocking and jeers
Understand what I’ve always known
I look at myself, not
There in the mirror.
Remove the smiling mask from my face
And she from there joins me here
I’m put once again in my place
Memories are dancing
There in the mirror.
Like a gateway straight to the past
I close my eyes, but my eyelids are sheer
And give in to the pain at last
My anguish is reflected
There in the mirror.
While out here I fall down on my knees
The alarming words enter my ears
“You’ll never again be at ease.”
Now I can see me,
There in the mirror.
Through the blood and the teary-eyed gleam
The sight of myself fills me with fear
Just a lost girl with broken dreams
Flutter
The sort of thing
That can’t be seen
But must be felt
For one to believe
A heart skips a beat
Butterflies dance
Eye-contact is made
During a side glance
A smile, a touch
An impulsive kiss
These are the things
That no one should miss
The little things
That make my heart race
And make me know
I’m in the right place
A face flushed with pink
As two lips meet a cheek
A skip around the corner
Then an over-the-shoulder peek
Our eyes meet for a moment
Then flicker astray
An uncontrollably smile
Carries me away
A trip up the stairs,
Then a leap, a bound
I begin laughing,
Feeling feet off the ground
Cheeks red with delight
“So happy,” I utter
And still in my stomach
Is that involuntary flutter
Don’t Cry
I breathe out with
A shuddering sigh
My heart clenches tight
I must not cry
Crying shows weakness
Show that, I cannot
Just smile and cover
The pain your words brought
I feel heat from the tears
Building up fast
I steady my breathing
Let the moment pass
But still, there you stand
And back up they crop
Speeding up quickly
Once they start, they won’t stop
I try to say something,
And hear my voice crack
I feel the drops coming
Beginning their ruthless attack
The pain and the stress
Come crashing down
You move towards me
My head starts to pound
You pull me in close
The tears start to flow
I wrap my arms around you
Refusing to let go

Re: Three Poems
I didn't see this 'til just now.
Dude, Mirror is still one of the best poems you've ever written.
I've already read flutter, but not Don't Cry. It's really good.

Re: Three Poems
I wondered... xD
Thanks. (: The strange thing is, usually poems like that come from when I'm depressed. This time, I was just... pondering.
Gracias. That was on my day including 6 different episodes of hysterical sobbing... xD Writing the poem caused one of them.

Huh, well, it's really good.
Ah, I see. xD It was extremely good, though. Sobbing or no sobbing.

Re: Three Poems
Thanks.
xD It was unfortunate... I was sitting in the library, typing it, and just had tears streaming down my face, and it was like, "Idiot, don't write a poem about crying... When you're likely to cry without it."

Re: Three Poems
Ah, that would have been the moment for like... (Bio teacher) to walk in and be all, "Are you okay?" And you'd just look at him and start sobbing harder.... xD
But, yeah, writing descriptively about crying does seem like it'd make you cry.... xD

Re: Three Poems
And I flip out, and start screaming at him, "IT'S BECAUSE OF YOU!!!!" Throw my Bio textbook against the floor, and run from the room spastically... xDD
Yes... I have learned. I don't plan on doing that again. xD
