Best Friends Forever
This is a simple poem I'm writing for my best friend, Sophie.
Best Friends Forever
The day we met
I remember perfectly
As if it was yesterday.
Over the years
We grew to be inseparable
We were more than best friends
We were sisters
Then you left.
Thousands of miles
Now separate us
But we still remain close at heart
Subtly, both of us are changing
Little by little each day
We can’t help
Going our separate ways
It’s a shame you can’t be here
It’s a shame we can’t be
Growing up together
Best friends forever.
I really love the last stanza and the last line.

Re: Best Friends Forever
Thats a really good poem. I miss my bestie. I haven't seen her in 3 weeks. No calls, no texts. Nothing.
Re: Best Friends Forever
Aw. *hugs* Me and Sophie keep in touch and are still best friends even though I only see her once a year.
Re: Best Friends Forever
Yupp. I miss her a ton, though. We used to be next-door neighbors and now we're thousands of miles apart... it's so weird not to be able to walk to her house at 10 PM with my PJs and toothbrush, go inside, and announce that I'm sleeping over . It's so weird not to have someone to laugh with on the bus. It's really hard for both of us to be so far away; we're inseperable. We're like sisters.
Sorry. That's my little depressing speech for tonight.

That must be hard, not being able to see her. I don't know what I'd do if that happened to me.
Re: Best Friends Forever
Aw, I know what you mean... When I was in fourth grade, just before I switched to the school I'm currently at, my BFF Sophia moved across the country. She actually moved back this summer! I was elated, and she's still my best friend. I love the poem.

Re: Best Friends Forever
(: Thanks Lauren!
OMG! Another crazy similarity... your best friend is Sophia and mine is Sophie! O.o That's so uber weird.
It was so sad when Sophie left. We never actually cried about it, I think because we wanted to stay strong for eachother. But I remember it so well.
She was standing in my driveway and her mom was standing next to her car talking ot my mom, and me and Sophie were just standing there hugging and waving and saying, "Bye," sadly to eachother over and over. And finally her mom said htey were going to miss their flight and they had to go. So then me and Sophie hugged and said goodbye one last time and then she got in the car and they left. The last thing I saw was their car turning left out of my driveway before I ran into the house, locked myself in my room, and cried for half an hour straight.

That is a little bit weird...
Aw, I remember... Sophia, her older brother, mom, dad, and two cats stayed in a hotel for the night before they left. I just remember standing there in the room with her, and that sadness that filled her eyes. Neither of us could manage the word 'goodbye' so we just cried...

Re: Best Friends Forever
AW, you guys are gonna make me cry.
I think the only person, I've ever truly missed, was my grandpa. I remember, i was sitting on the couch with my mom, brother, and sister, watching T.V, when my grandma called, said "Grandpa's dead." than, hung up. I went to my room and cried for an hour straight.

Re: Best Friends Forever
Ooh. I'm sorry to hear that.
In '03, I think it was, my great-grandma died. Since I was... 7? at the time, I don't think it hit me as hard as it should've... at the funeral, I don't think I saw it as that she was gone forever, even though I knew she was... it's hard to explain, but like I said, her death didn't hit me as hard as it should've. I miss her so much now, though... I have a stuffed animal that was hers, a polar bear in a sitting position, and whenever I'm upset and crying, I lock myself in my room and cuddle with the bear until I stop crying.
