City Lights Empty City Lights

~City Lights~

I find my gaze drawn out over the sparkling city
Nighttime sets in, and lights flicker to life in every window
Colors and shades flashing and expanding in every direction
Creating an image of constant movement, and life
Streetlights a dark sunset orange, casting a dancing yellow glow
Down on the sidewalk
Traffic lights shining their repetitive green, yellow, red, green, yellow, red
Crosswalks switch from white to orange and back again
But I know, somewhere out there
Your eyes are twinkling
The brightest city lights of them all

Yah. Random poem that I thought up last night when I was driving through the city...
