Mirror

We can never see our own face.
We look in a mirror,
Even that’s clogged with the thoughts
And inputs of others.
What we see in the mirror
Is a reflection of what society
Wants us to be.
I don’t want to fit into that mold.
I want to see myself as I am,
Not through the curtain of
“Civilization.”
Our image of being civilized,
Technology, modernization.
What makes us so different, really?
A small house in a small town
In the middle of no where,
No sheet between it and the stars.
That’s what civilization should be.
No layer of lies, expectations.
See yourself reflected back
As you really are.
That’s what I want.
A world were I can look in the mirror
And see me.

Thanks. I don't know, it's another poem I wrote at midnight. I'm just glad this one wasn't about cheese. xD

I usually have to think hard about stuff that fits right into the poem thats why i try loads of words that i think would sound great.

Ahh... I read this a couple days ago... Good the second and third time as well.

Yeah, that's why I don't rhyme, it takes too much effort.
