Silence

Silence
Sterling silver
flashing in quivering hands
A deadly weapon
whose crimson words
whisper across unblemished skin
in their voices.
They’re watching.
Accusing eyes
and murmurs.
Anxiously,
sleeves are tugged to cover
the tragic trophies
of mental tribulations.
Shaky breaths
drawn sharply
Trembling fingers
slip
One more scar
that will not matter
momentarily.
Blaring lights
and headlines.
Within hours, they all know who
and why.
Their conscience is left to struggle
in the
silence.
