Tug-Of-War-Heart

Wrote this in like, 5 or 6 minutes in English a few days ago. Turned out well, so, I'll post it...

Tugging, yanking
Crossing the line
Slide this way, or that
Goes this heart of mine

Tension is building
The clock chimes twelve
Time is ticking
While I confuse myself

I close my eyes,
Let the memories flow
A smile, a kiss
No, don't let me go

I fall from the past
To the present again
Afraid of the future
The imminent pain

Where is the hope?
The trust and the peace?
The fear and the anguish
Is all that I see

The tension still building
While I flit to and fro
Searching for the light giving
Off this eerie glow

The tunnel encases me
Can't see either end
Now it is on
This soft light I depend

But which way to start walking?
The answer's not clear
I slowly stride onward,
Ambling in fear

Did I make the right choice?
Will I ever be free?
From the chronic confusion
Inflicted in me?

I hit the wall
And I'm pulled from both sides
Out in the open
Nowhere to hide

Two equal forces
Tearing me apart
The pain of this game
Of Tug-Of-War-Heart
