Sunken and Sad

Well, I haven't really written anything lately, but I found this from the beginning of the year, and thought I'd share, so if someone were to come online, there would be some activity.



"I'll get off to a good start,"
I promise myself,
Then I end up in tears,
Well, that didn't work.

So disappointed,
Everything's off.
Everyone's happy,
Just where'd I go wrong?

I have no control
Over my life,
How do I function
When I don't have power?

So frustrated
With everyone around me.
Just leave me alone!
But, really don't.

I need people here
More than anything right now,
To make me feel loved,
Or simply wanted.

To be accepted,
Not overlooked,
Considered a person,
Someone to like.

I can't deal with change,
Was flying so high,
Two simple things,
And I crashed to the ground.

I was floating on air,
Radiating joy,
Then it all changed,
Sunken and sad.

... Very sad...

Yeah.... I can't remember when I wrote it, though....

To me it sounds like right at the beginning of high school. Right when we were all struggling with the transition.

I dunno... I'm trying to figure out what the two things were. I think it may have been shortly after Kanab....

Ahaa... Could this have been one of the two you wrote while IN Kanab?

No, I don't think so, 'cause I remember writing it in Math and Spanish. And it wasn't in my Kanab notebook. Hm.

Hmm... I wonder what you were thinking about at the time, because usually a poem is spurred on by a specific event or thought process...

I know... I can't remember, that's unfortunate. Hm.

It is... Still a good poem, though.
