One Tree Hill highschool!

"First impressions can be a real bummer. I know... It's not easy to not be accepted, no matter who you are, but there are some people who will accept you for who you are, not who you're faking or trying to be. You just have to take the time to find them. I learned that very recently. With you." James said quietly, looking down at his knees.

((Okay, you guys are being deep. It's interesting.))

Nadine smiled. "I'm glad I could help, then." She gently squeezed his hand.

((Lauren, we should, like, make this into a book. It's pretty epic. ))

((This would make an epic book.))

((It would. Way cool. ))

James sat in silence for a while, reminding himself that it might be a good idea to breathe.

((BREATHE! Sorry....))

Nadine heard James exhale loudly and mistook it for a sigh. "What's wrong?" she asked, tilting her head to the side slightly.

James burst out laughing for a few seconds, then blushed when he realized how he would have to explain this, "Well, er, I was thinking about.. uh... you and me, sort of, er, being this close, and uh, I um... forgot to breathe." Whoa, dude, that was more awkward than it needed to be. Failure.

Nadine laughed. "That's so cute!"

James grinned sheepishly, wishing he could curl up in a ball.

Nadine leaned her head on James's shoulder, smiling.

James breath caught in his throat. He didn't really want to move, or do anything else to be quite frank.
He gasped after about ten seconds, "Sorry..." he giggled, "I forgot again."
He felt Nadine's shoulder in his hand, liking it's gentle curve, and how soft her shirt was against his palm. He rested his on top of hers, all self-consciousness gone.

Nadine smiled. This felt wrong and right at the same time, but all Nadine knew was that right now, it didn't matter what was going to happen next. All that mattered was right here, right now.

James brain told him that this was wrong, that Nadine could get hurt, but his heart wouldn't let him let her go. He couldn't help but smile when a song popped into his head. He sang very softly under his breath, "Don't let me go-o-o-o..."

Nadine smiled and began to sing along, picking her head up off his shoulder but still remaining in very close proximity to him, staring into his eyes.

((This is a highschoolmusical moment. <3 ))

((It's so cute though. Tee hee, I'm such a romantic...))

James felt the words get lost on the way to his mouth, and went quiet, lips slightly parted. He looked into her eyes, losing all sense of himself...

(( *sigh* Me, too. My life is an amazing love story, I am so lucky ))

Nadine let her voice fade away as well. She was very aware that their faces were perhaps an inch and a half apart. Her eyes flitted around his face, but always came back to his eyes... those gorgeous blue eyes.

((I know... It's probably a good thing. I'd die without romance. It's what makes my days pass, and keeps the pain away.))

James was short of breath. Something told him what was coming, but for once, the tiny voice in his head had faded away into almost nothingness. All he could think was how much he wanted to... not able to stop himself, he leaned in, and gently touched his lips to Nadine's.

((Very well spoken there.))

Nadine had seen it coming, but for some reason it was shocking to her. For a moment she kissed him, her eyes slipping shut, not thinking at all. A moment later they flew open and she pulled away. "What just happened there?" she asked, although she knew very well what had just happened there. James had hypnotized her with his sparkling eyes and kissed her. There was very much wrong with that and yet Nadine's heart was pounding wildly, yet happily, against her chest.

James swayed back and forth on the spot, rather light-headed, "I don't know..." he muttered, blinking his eyes. He wasn't lying. He'd never seen that move coming. What had happened in his brain that had caused that?! "I'm sorry if that, er, upset you or anything..." he mumbled.

"No, it didn't upset me..." Nadine said softly. "I just... it felt wrong but right at the same time and I just don't know." She sighed. "But for the record... not gonna lie, I liked that."

James smiled, a full, real, smile, and pulled her into a hug.

Nadine grinned and hugged him back. She couldn't help notice how she fit perfectly into his arms, in a way she had never fit with Ryan. Her pounding heart already knew what it wanted, but her brain didn't want to admit defeat. Succumbing to love so quickly did not agree with her logic.
But sometimes all you need is love to heal a broken heart.
