"What do you want to know?" Kemi asked.

"Um... c'mere. Away from Bekah..." Gabe pulled Ebony out of earshot of anyone. "Well... erm..." he glanced sideways at Erik. He felt like such a horrible person saying that he wanted to get back with Peyton. What would happen to Bekah? What would happen to Felicity? Gabe sighed. "Erik.. can you... explain?"

Ebony could see from the awkward sideways glances the boys were giving eachother what was really going on. "Uh-huh..."

"Green," said Kemi unexpectedly, "I like nature."

"Yeah, sure." Ebony said. She glanced sideways at Bekah, who was playing with the kids. "But what are we gonna do about her? She's grown on me, actually."

"Okay," said Ebony. "Should I go talk to her now?"

". . . I think it all started when I was bitten... it was a vicious attack... she bit me because my father angered her, and so she took me as punishment. She dragged me into the forest, knocked me around until I was nearly unconcious,bit me, kicked me around some more, and then left me there, passed out and bloody on the forest floor. Right here, actually." he stared down at the wooden floor, as if expecting himself to be laying there, bleeding to death. "Anyway, when I woke up, she was gone. I never did see her again... but I just started hating everyone and everything. I think I just want revenge on every other vampire. I think I just want people to suffer like I did."

Amber looked at him.''Why did you not kill me or make me suffer?''She asked him.

"Oh, I did make you suffer. I turned you into a vampire. But... I don't know why I didn't just kill you. It would've been easier by far..." Kemi paused, trying to remember. "I was in the trees, following you, watching you, about to pounce. You looked like such an easy target - isolated and nervous. I was about to jump down and kill you - but I just couldn't. I couldn't do it... something about you got me."

"Okay," Ebony said. She walked over to where Peyton was. "Hi," she said awkwardly.

"NOBODY looks at me. That way I keep my mystery." Kemi snarled. "It would've been so much easier to just kill you," he added as an afterthought.

Kemi glared darkly at her. "It's a name feared by everyone, vampire and human." he said mysteriously, although really, none of the humans knew he even existed. The vampires certainly feared him, though.
