Chris was enjoying not having Isaac echoing around his head constantly. Occasionally he caught a glimpse of Isaac's thoughts, but for the most part, it was all him.

As they approached the doors, Chris could feel the warm spring breeze wafting into the castle.

They crossed the threshold of the castle and Chris started leading Enuya towards their customary tree by the lake.

Enuya kept walking by Chris' side, smiling warmly.

They reached the tree and Chris smiled up at the flourishing leafy canopy. Even though he knew she could do it herself, Chris lifted Enuya up into the branches and clambered up beside her.

"Oh!" she'd said quietly as Chris suddenly lifted her up. She sat there, just gazing at him, quietly.
