Soon they were farther and farther away, in the lush green forest, untouched by the flames. Nadine kept running. Just a little farther away and they would be safe from searchers in the night.

((Ooh, I liked the searchers in the night part... Creepy, sorta.))

James felt that his lungs were going through a spontaneous combustion. As if he were folding in on himself.

"Let's stop here," Nadine panted, collapsing on the ground.

((LOL. Well, that reminds me of several things, but there are too many to only pick one story. xD Well, it was a really good phrase. It almost gives me insight for another story... Hmm...))

James nodded, unable to get enough breath to agree, and flopped on the ground, curling his legs to his chest.

When Nadine finally caught her breath, she pulled the tent out of her bag. "I've got a tent. It's only made for one person, so we might be squished... I hope that's not a problem," she smiled.

James rose his eyebrows at her through the darkness, "No problem at all..." he smirked, then giggled a little.

Nadine set up the tent in a few minutes, and then crawled inside, squishing the bag into a corner after taking the blanket out. "C'mon inside."

((Not totally sure what it's going to be about, but I have sort of a mini plan..... Maybe.))

James felt clumsy as he stumbled through the small tent opening, "Cozy," he commented with a snicker.

"Mm. Perfect," Nadine sighed, lying down.

((It could be a while. I'm in the middle of something else right now, actually. Something that I'm hoping to publish, so I don't want to post it because of first rights or whatever...))

James already felt his eyelids gaining weight, and cuddled down next to her, "Goodnight," he whispered.

((Oh yeah, I get it. Well cool! ^.^))

"Goodnight, love," she whispered, kissing his forehead.

((Yep. You'll probably get to read it if I ever finish it though. I'll need an editor. xD Aww... That was so cute. ^.^))

James would have responded, but at the light touch of her lips on his skin that sent a wave of tingles from his forehead to his fingertips, he fell asleep.

Nadine smiled to herself, yawning, and leaning her head and James's chest as her eyes slipped shut.

Hours later, James eyes flickered open as the ray of sunlight that was shining through the tent hit him. Nadine was asleep on his chest, still. He kissed the top of her head, "Good morning."

After a minute, Nadine's eyes flickered open. She blinked, staring up at James. "Good morning, handsome."

((Hehehe! They're so cute, I can't handle it! ))

"So what are today's plans?" he propped himself up on his elbows a little, "I'd say we ran about three miles last night."

(( I know! *dies* ))

"Mm, I don't know. I'd be okay with just staying here for a while. It'll been a while since I've had some peace."

"Understandable, what with not being allowed out of the house," James sighed in sadness, "So just hover here for the day?"

"Yeah," said Nadine, unzipping the tent to an unusually chilly morning. She shivered, and closed it back up. "How about we just stay in here until it warms up?"

James rubbed away the goosebumps that sprung up on his arms as a quick gust of frosty air blew through the flap before Nadine swung it shut.
