Trapped

Trapped
Breaths come short
Agony
Tears spill out
trail down my cheeks
Constricting
like indestructible hands
Crushing
In heartless tightening bands
Struggling
Gasping for air
Trying to escape
But there’s nothing there
Tears wash
the colors to gray
Despair swoops in
and shadows the day
My heart is racing
Pounding in my ears
The world is spinning
Starting to disappear
Finally realizing,
I stop kicking
Stop fighting
Stop pushing it away
There’s no use
There’s no point
There’s no way out.
This world begins to collapse.
Underneath the rubble,
I’m trapped.

I love this poem of yours, Nadine!! The way you describe everything is so spot on, in my opinion.
