« Deception » Book 1: City of Secrets

"It's fine. I like to cook."

"Okay. Well, in that case," she said, "what's for breakfast?"

"I don't know, what do you feel like?" Mark asked, pulling her onto his lap.

"Hmm.." she said, thinking. "I think I have some stuff for pancakes, if you like,"

"Sounds good to me," he said. He kissed the top of her head and then got out of bed. "Pankcakes, coming right up."

"Okay. I'll get changed, in the mean time," she smiled.
She got off of her bed, and lightly closed the door behind Mark. She drew her curtains, so that bright sunlight shone it. She looked behind her nightstand, where the red blinking lights read, 9:47 A.M.
Lilly walked over to her closet, and grabbed a pair of dark skinny jeans, that practically looked black. She pulled on the skin tight jeans, and walked over to her dresser, and pulled out a baby blue v-neck quarter length shirt. "Perfect," she murmured, looking quickly into the mirror. Her hair looked fine; there was no need to brush it. So with that, she walked out the door, and into the kitchen beside Mark. "Back." she said, kissing him on the cheek.

Mark smiled, pouring the pancake mix into the bowl and adding water. "You look great," he noted.

"Thanks," she said, smiling. "Is there anything I could help with?"

"Nah, I got it," said Mark, stirring the batter and checking the temperature on the griddle.

"Okay..." Lilly said, unconvinced, though she still smiled.

"Well..." he grinned, "you know, I may need a kiss before I start cooking. It usually helps."

"Oh, well, of course," she said, returning his grin. She leaned in, and kissed him.

Mark grinned. "Much better."

Lilly returned his grin. "Good."

Five minutes later, Mark brought a plate of pancakes over to the table with some syrup.

Lilly sat down in one of the chairs, and helped herself to two pancakes, drenching them in syrup. She giggled, "sorry, I like a lot of syrup,"

"You're so apologetic, just shut up and eat. You need some meat on these bones," Mark smiled.

Lilly laughed, and chowed down.

Mark smiled, watching her. "You're so cute."

Lilly looked up, with a mouth some-what full if pancakes, and said, "Thank you!"

Mark chuckled. "I don't get why most girls don't eat in front of guys. It's stupid."

Lilly swallowed, and smiled. "Because they're anorexic ((sp)) stupid heads."

((Spelled correctly. ))

"Agreed. It's great to finally see a girl who's healthy and confident."

((Yesss!))

Lilly nodded, when a thought struck her. "Hey, were your other girlfriends anorexic..?"

(( *triumphant trumpet sounds* ))

"Probably a few of them were. None of them ever ate in front of me, and they were all rediculously lightweight and skinny, picture perfect, most of them blondes." He sighed. "I was sort of an idiot back then."
