*<>YoShI's IsLaNd<>* Chapter 1: The Council's Secret

Long ago, there was an island dedicated to Yoshi's. (The island was named Yoshi's Island for obvious reasons.) Yoshis of every shape, size, and color lived there together in harmony for many many generations. One yoshi, a yellow, named Stomp, born to Boots and Sasha did not like the way things were run. She didn't like living free, every yoshi together. She began to research ways to crack the island in half, to seperate the yoshis and try to make some order. One day she found the spell, and Yoshi's Island was seperated into five sections. Soon, Stomp realized he had to pick one island to live on, in hopes that they would become the island home he always wanted. He chose the fifth island. He taught the yoshis spells that he knew, and soon they turned evil. "There's only one way to turn the island back," he told them, "all yoshis must unite together."
"Ah, but what if we don't?" asked a dark blue yoshi. "Then our home will crumble, and we will be no more."
Island 1 is covered in ice, and snow. (It's like Antarctica) Over time, the yoshi's that were on this island when it seperated grew thick coats of fur. Their fur is the color of the scale underneath them. (If there was a green yoshi, it would have green fur) They have blubber to keep them warm, and live on a diet of fish, and anything else edible beneath the thick snow, like berries. It is one of the only islands that actually has a leader, and a kind of council who choose the next leader after the current one dies. Their colors tend to be darker, since darker colors absorb heat, but their are still light colors as well. They have an unwanted gang of rebel yoshi's that steal food. They have a very tough adittude, and don't like to give up.
They have a sheltered cave that shields the yoshi's inside from the harsh frosty winds. It's the nursery, and large enough for all yoshi's to stay in. There's a scoop in the snow that's frozen that way. It leads underground into a chamber kind of room, where the Young yoshi's sleep and hangout. The adult yoshi's sleep in one of the only trees on the island. Snow has frozen the branches together, so it makes a frozen treehouse, that's rather cozy. The yoshi elders have secret underground chambers, which they use to meet in secret.
Paths lead to the ocean, where many years of travel has made a path in the snow, that's frozen solid. The yoshi's who hunt store their spears in the fresh snow. The spears are used to fish.
Island 2 is the opposite of the first; it's tropical, hot, (like Florida) and the yoshis have light colors. The yoshis' here have no fur, just scales. They're very laid back, and don't like to fight. Palm trees can be seen around the crystal-clear blue-green ocean that the yoshis use for a food supply. It's much like the first island, where there are no rules, everyone is in charge, and it has a so-with-the-flow type atmosphere. They've learned how to swim, and even go under water from time to time. They have a secret council of Yoshi elders who are planning to reunite with the other yoshi's to save their home. Lots of yoshi's enjoy climbing, so some of the young males can become buff. It is considered paradise.
The nursery is located in tipi shaped palmtrees. (the trees morphed together during a hurricane, making a great shelter from just about everything.) It's quite cozy, and though it's small, it's a comfortable fit. Every yoshi loves it there. The young yoshi's sleep up in the trees, where the branches have formed together to make a sort of bed, where it is impossible to fall off. The adult yoshi's sleep in large bushes or shrubs. They've pulled out the middle, so it's hollow, and a good place to sleep. The elders also sleep here.
Island 3 is unlike any other island. Almost all (About 97%) of the yoshis here are scavengers or rouges. They travel in groups of about 4 or 5, and don't like to stay in the same place for more than a couple of weeks. (Which is easy since the island is HUGE.) The yoshis' adittude is mostly about themselves. They care for only themselves, and their young, and don't like to be bothered by rival tribes, or there'll be a nasty fight. Their home is an open moorland, with a slight breeze carried in from the ocean, which they like to stay away from. Because they run a lot, they're legs are slightly longer than the average yoshi, and they're almost all slender. Colors very. They know of the 4 other islands, and can see island 2 and 4 from the ocean, but they tend to keep their distance, as they rarely like seeing rival tribes from the same island. Maybe this is why the fear the ocean?
The yoshi's here sleep wherever they can, and have made shelter.
Island 4 spend most of their time cowering in the corners of the huts they've learned to build. Why, you ask? They are constantly tormented by Island 5, making sure they have no contac from the other 3 islands. They all have dark shady colors, since almost all of their time is spent in the shadows of their own house. Island 5 have sent small groups over to make sure no one leaves or enters the island. They are basicly prisoners on their own island. They have a nervoust jumpy nature, and are constantly looking over their shoulder. The yoshis from Island 5 bring them meals of fried fish, since they won't let the yoshis go near the ocean, in fear they will escape to the other islands, and unite. Much like Island 2, a secret council of elders exists, plotting an escape plan. Their island is seasonal, (Like New England) cold and snowy in the Winter, that starting-to-warm-up feeling in Spring, hot Summers, and cool crisp Autumns. It is a beutiful island.
Island 5, is the final island. It's rather barren. An extinct volcano can be seen in the horizon. The ground is a grey-ish brown, and cracks in the dry earth show where grass used to grow. It's cold, and almost everything is grey, just like the yoshi's hearts here. It is almost always overcast or rainy. The yoshi's colors here very from black, to white, to green, to dark blue. They almost all have red eyes, and they're rather lazy or arrogent. Stomp still rules this sad island, and he teaches them all voodoo, or spells of everything you can imagine. Some spells turn you into a fish, others make you sprout permanent wings, some can even breath fire. It was once the beautiful mainland of Yoshi's Island. Once. The elders who live here try with feeble atempts to overthrow Stomp, who wha brainwashed the yoshi's here. The elders try to reunite with the other islands.
The yoshi's here don't like to sleep, so they don't really have a place too. But when they do, it's wherever they can, just like Island 3.

- Licky is a female yoshi, who was around when Yoshi's Island split into 5 parts, 15 years ago. She is light pink with yellow boots, and is spunky, and would to anything to get the old Yoshi's Island back. No one knows she is still alive. Mother to Frost, and grandmother to Fuzzy.

Frost

- Light blue yoshi with dark blue boots. Kind, nice, and sweet. She is 33 years old, and still has spirit left. She loves her daughter Fuzzy, as much as she loves her name. So, a lot. She would do anything for the way Yoshi's island used to be, but she doesn't mind it, as long as she has her daughter.
Young Yoshi's
Yoshi's from age 12 to 17
Claret

- Claret is fierce, daring, tough, and solitary. She enjoys fighting and pretty much hates everyone. She has bloodred fur, and wears black boots. She is 17 years old. Her parents died when she was 12
Fuzzy

- Fuzzy is a mix between pink and blue. She is very fluffy, even for an Island 1 yoshi, and loves everyone. She easy easy to love, and will do anything for anyone. She adores her mom Frost, and would giver her life for her mother. She is rather outgoing, and wears regular brown boots.
Nursery
Yoshi's from the time they're an egg, to 12. (it may seem like a while, but they have a type of system where they teach yoshi's, so they'll be ready for the next part in their life) Also a place where Yoshi mothers can hang out.
Alec

- Alec substitute's his wife, since she died while laying her egg. The egg has yet to hatch. He is green, and has sad eyes. He used to be very out going, and loved life, and doing eveything, but since the death of his wife, he's been cooped up in the nursery cave, and watch over his egg. He's rather dreary.

- Sticky is a 98 year old orange yoshi, who is just about to croak, to put it bluntly. He's lived a long happy life, and has seen his wife die, 10 years earlier. He is part of the council to try and make Yoshi's Island whole again.

- Scruffy is a brown-orange yoshi with blue boots. He is 52, and almost has a bit of a grey beard. He is very happy, loves to laugh, and help people. He's very good with injuries and illness, so if you're feeling ill, come see him!

- Aquamarine (Aqua for short) is fun and bubbly. She's very easygoing and friendly, and gets along with pretty much everyone. She has teal scales and white boots.

- Crazy, outgoing, but laid back at the same time. Light blue scales, red boots and saddle. Just your basic blue yoshi. Shes 14 years old.
Karis

Nudge

- Nudge is a brown yoshi, who is sneaky, and cunning. He steals food from other tribes, and takes it back to his small one. He does not wear any boots, since he's always running. He is 17 years old.
Sally
- Spoiler:
- Sally travels with Nudge. She is also 17, and is as sneaky and cunning as Nudge. She goes to an enemy tribe, and pretends to be sick or hurt. If/when they go over to her, Nudge will go around them, and steal their food. She is pink, with yellow boots.

Adult Yoshi's
Astro

- Astro was kidnapped by Island 5 yoshi's as an egg, and hatched shortly after. After learning the truth about himself, he fled to Island 4, and got hit with a wing spell in the attempt. When he found Island 4 being overrun by the Island 5 yoshi's, he devoted his life to riding the Island of the evil Island 5 yoshi's. He's an orange winged yoshi, and is brave to the point of fool hardy. He has a strong sense of justice. 18 years old
Sammy

- Sammy was once a light blue yoshi. But from cowering so much, she has shadowy stripes all around her scales. She fiercely wants Stomp and his goons gone. she's developed a habit of sneaking out at night, and plottiong with others for an escape plan. 19 years old.
Young Yoshi's
Edwardo

- Edwardo, (or Ed for short) is a dark blue yoshi, and is not afriad of anything. Not even the Island 5 Yoshi's who stay on his island. Does he hate their guts? Heck yes! Is he scared of them? HECK NO! He is very head strong, for only being 15 years of age.

- Muffin is a 3 day old baby. He's got black scales, and loves everyone. He's very kind and gentle, and helps out the mothers in the nursery. He's very caring, and would do anything to help his island get rid of Stomps goonies.

Island 5
Stomp
- Spoiler:
- Stomp is an evil yellow yoshi whose heart is as black and barren as his island. He is Draco's son. He's Island 5's dictator, and he knows every spell to exist. He can turn you into anything he wants to. He has a black fluffy unibrow that is kind of evil looking. It goes along with his black goatee. he has grey scaley wings, and can breath fire at will. The only spell he does not know, is the one to activate the extinct volcano. But it's only a matter of time before he finds it....
Adult Yoshi's
Dusk

- Dusk is depressing and emotionless all the time. He has been brainwashed by Stomp. He is black, and wears black boots. He's 18

- Shade, like all Island 5 yoshi's is dark and depressing. She's black, with orange boots. She prefers to be a loner, and doesn't come in contact with any yoshi's. She has a very hot temper. She's 18
Young Yoshi's

- Draco is a green yoshi with black boots. Everyone expects him to follow in his fathers footsteps, and he's always wanted to. But when his friend is killed in one of his father's rages, he's having second thoughts- does he really want this life?

Alice

- Alice is a dark blue yoshi with red boots. She hates Island 5, and is planning to escape it when her egg hatched. She is cheery, for an Island 5 yoshi, and has kind eyes. She's very helpful

Fuzzy decided to suck it up, and go fishing. She walked along the icy path, and grabbed a spear hidden in the snow. She noticed a lone Yoshi fishing as well. She recognized her right away. Claret. "Hello," she called a cheery greeting.

Fuzzy turned away awkwardly, and looked into the pool for a fish. When she saw one, she threw her spear into the water, and caught the fish. Pulling the spear up, Fuzzy tried another attempt to talk to Claret. "Er, how long've you been out here?"

Claret continue to stare at her through narrowed eyes. "Don't talk to me." She threw her spear into the water angrily and caught two fish at the same time.

Fuzzy decided to call it quits trying to be friendly. But she couldn't help but exclaim, "Nice catch!" as Claret caught two fish at the same time.

"S'no problem." Fuzzy muttered. Fuzzy was starting to become really irritated with Claret's behavior. Then again, almost almost everyone here had that attitude: Strong, and determined, no matter how, or why. She thought.
