Honestly, I think he really likes you and you guys could start going out. I don't think he'd react badly... I mean, maybe he'd blush or something... but he does obviously like you so how bad could it be, really?

I agree. I think he really likes me too, and I know I really like him too, and... I don't know. It's just all so confusing. I dreadfully want him, but I kinda just don't know...

Trust me, I feel the exact same way. And I know you're probably thinking why, because I've already got Ricky, but like I said... it's complicated.
I mean, he's amazing and I love him, but he won't say "I love you" back. He never tells me I'm beautiful or smart or anything. He hugs me for like three seconds only. It's like, I love him, but he could do better, but at the same time, I don't want him to, but I completely do, I sort of need him to, and he doesn't, and I talked to him about it and he still doesnt, and it's just so complicated. I don't want him to think I'm obsessive and dependant because I'm so scared that he'll break up with me. I don't think he will, but still...

Alright. I've got a solution! My theory:

I finally have sort of figured out why Laurence and I aren't going out, at least from my side. For me, I think it's because when we're not dating, every little sweet thing that happens is so much more significant, and I find that I appreciate him more, when it's not something that's supposed to become routine. Like, for me, whenever he hugs me, I get all excited and light-headed, because it's not something that we're supposed to do, or whatever. And it feels good, because I don't have to rate him with my boyfriend standards, I just rate him with guy friend standards, and he excels, because we both fancy each other, and it just turns out perfectly, and it makes me feel so much more in love than I would if that became regular. I know it sounds weird, but I love that feeling of everything being special and significant, and something that I'll remember forever. Like when we hugged at the dance, that was special, and it's something that's going to stick with me. If we became BF/GF, and hugged every day, it wouldn't seem nearly as special. So I think it's one of those things where I want to experience everything that would happen in a relationship as a friend at least once, before it actually is one, if that makes any sense at all.

As for you, I also have a theory:

You feel like you're giving more to it than he is. My suggestion is to treat him like he's your best guy friend (which he probably is), and think about everything having a hidden meaning, and that he really loves you even more than you love him, but he just doesn't know how to show it, and acts funny, and random, to hide just how nervous he really is, and suddenly, you won't want him to do all those things anymore...

Ooh, yeah, that makes A LOT of sense. Although, just because people hug every day, doesnt mean it becomes less special. I still get that happy/excited feeling when Ricky hugs me. (:

Yeah, I think that's why he acts the way he does: because he doesnt really know how to show how he feels and he doesnt know how to act around me or what to do because I'm his first girlfriend, and yeah.. Oh, but I like the way you put it! That makes sense... it's like almost the opposite of what you said... although, it's kind of the same thing... but it makes sense!! THANK YOU LAUREN.

Yes, I just don't really want it to become routine. Just something sweet that catches me off-guard.

I understand. I have a story.

At recess a couple days ago, me and all my friends were standing outside, and it was a little bit cold, and dark Esta nublado. (It's cloudy.) Abi kept hugging me and saying,"I love you, Lauren." xD And Laurence would jump-start her every time she did it, and for a time, I thought it was for my sake because I couldn't move. xD
But then, after it happened for about the fifth time, Abi goes,"Ohhhhh!!!!! Now I get what's going on, Laurence, you want me to stop hugging your girl!"
He responds, "Well, what did you think?"
IT WAS SOOOO CUTE!
